Thank you for joining us for a much needed cleanup along this very popular hiking trail and doing your part for the environment! A proper cleanup is much needed on this route, especially before the holiday season sets in when lots of holiday makers come to enjoy this route.
Each participant will receive a blue bag and a pair of gloves for our own safety and hygiene.
Starting at the Victoria Bay parking area, we move in an Easterly direction along the railway line to pick up waste.
Passing through two tunnels until we reach the bridge where we will be leaving the bags behind for our return. We will then cross the Kaaimans River mouth during the low tide towards Leentjiesklip. Once at Leentjiesllip we’ll enjoy some Boerewors rolls and a drink before we return the same way, taking the bags back to drop them at Victoria Bay.
List of items required for all our hikes:
- Suitable lightweight hydration-/backpack/hip pouch
- Hydration/bottled water
- Sunscreen
- Hat/head gear
- Suitable non-slip shoes
- Snacks
- Lightweight windproof jacket
- Fleece/midlayer depending the weather
- Your own emergency items, such as bandage, small petroleum jelly, blister plasters, etc
We’ll meet at Victoria Bay parking area, around 7h45.
